Plantar Fasciitis

What is Plantar Fasciitis?

Plantar fasciitis is heel pain that’s common in runners and in people that are overweight or wear shoes with inadequate support. The pain is caused by an inflammation of the plantar fascia which is the band of tissue that connects your heel bone to your toes.

People with plantar fasciitis often experience a sharp pain when they walk, especially first thing when they wake up in the morning. This pain will often subside once the foot is warmed up but will return after periods of standing.
